The main part of the fort is on a bluff above the beach and campground. In this photo you can see one of the buildings that were used as barracks or offices, but you can also see the Sound in the distance.
These are officers' homes on the opposite side of the parade grounds. You can rent a room or an entire house for a family event. Most contain 3-6 bedrooms, multiple bathrooms, and a kitchen and living areas.

There is a free bus that takes you from the fort to the town of Port Townsend. Here are a few photos of the downtown area. The photo below is one of the ferries that leave from Port Townsend.
There were some really nice Victorian building in town.
Tomorrow I head to another state park, but this one is in Southwest Washington.
