8/3 Memaloose SP, Columbia River

Memaloose is a state park about 80 miles east of Portland, near the Hood River.  I had not been here before so stayed just a few days to check it out.  It is a nice place on the Columbia River, but it is also right next to I-84, so there is a lot of road noise.

I don't see these rules spelled out very often, and I liked that they called them a Courtesy Guide.

Some of the campsites are along the Columbia River, but there is no river access because of a very busy railroad.  Also, the sites along the river do not have electrical hookups, although all sites in the campground, even tent sites, do have water.

A couple of pretty views across the river.
Interesting little house on the Washington side of the river.
